How Your Visits Can Be Cover Financially

1) Your automobile insurance, also known as Med Pay, Personal Injury Insurance (PIP) or Under-Insured Motorist Insurance (UIM) pays for your visits. You do not pay upfront. You will NOT be penalized for using your personal automobile insurance for payment of your medical bills. Normal limits range from $1,000 to $25,000 per person. You can verify the total amount of your Med Pay Coverage by checking the “Declarations Page” furnished to you by your insurance company under “Coverage and Limitations” or by simply calling your agent. Please provide this information to us on your first visit if you choose this option. We are not able to access your personal automobile policy information. We will submit each visit note and invoices to your adjustor for reimbursement. To submit your notes/invoices to your adjustor we will need your claim number, a Letter of Protection (see below) from your adjustor, and your adjustor's name, email, fax, and motor insurance company name.

2) Third party automobile insurance, the automobile insurance company of the party that caused the accident and your injuries pays for your visits. You do not pay upfront. If he/she who was at fault, the third party may be responsible for your claims. This may or may not involve an attorney. If you do not have an attorney, then we will submit each visit invoices to the head adjustor. To submit your notes/invoices to the adjustor we will need your claim number, a Letter of Protection (see below) from your adjustor, and your adjustor's name, email, fax, and motor insurance company name. If you want an attorney, we can help guide you to an attorney in the area. If you have an attorney, then we will submit invoices to your attorney (see option #3).

3) Attorney, you have an attorney who you are working with for your claim. Your attorney sends over a letter of protection and you do not pay upfront. Once you are discharged from PT we sent all your notes and invoices to your attorney group. Once the case settles, your attorney group negotiates a price to pay for PT. To submit your notes/invoices to the attorney we will need your claim number, a Letter of Protection (see below) from your attorney, and your attorney's name, email, fax, and practice location.

4) Health Insurance, we follow the rules and rates of your health insurance based on your deductible, copay, co-insurance, visit limit, authorization, etc. You most likely will have to pay upfront. Most health insurances will not deal with MVA cases unless an attorney is part of the case. Once you are discharged from PT, you can work with your attorney to get reimbursed for the funds you paid. To submit your notes/invoices to the attorney we will need your claim number, and your attorney's name, email, fax, and practice location.

5) Self-Pay, you pay upfront for each visit and you submit invoices for reimbursment yourself. You will pay our discounted self-pay rate.

What is a Letter of Protection (LOP)?

A LOP is a document signed by the patient and either their attorney or adjustor in order to legal promise to protect Purposed Physical Therapy's interests in the event of a settlement. Many insurances send payments of therapy service directly to Purposed Physical Therapy in Greenville SC. However, some insurances may send payments to the patient, or the attorney, in order to pay for Therapy services provided by Purposed Physical Therapy. This document assures that neither the patient, nor the attorney or adjustor, will uphold these payments belonging to Purposed Physical Therapy. It is merely a requirement that we, as your medical provider will be paid for the services we provided to you.

This LOP will NOT affect your credit unless we do not receive payment for our medical services. In the case that we do not receive payment for our services, your credit could be affected if we have no alternative but to turn the matter over to a collection agency after proper notice is given to you. This is an extremely rare occurrence with motor vehicle accident patients that receive treatment at our locations, but something we still take very seriously.
