Hello Purposed Physical Therapy Community!!

Some exciting news for 2019! I will be taking all Blue Cross insurances, except Blue Cross Medicaid, starting Jan 1st 2019!

If you do not have Blue Cross, then you do not have to worry about any changes. We will still do your usual visit prices and you can still submit your daily invoices towards your insurance's deductible, or reimbursement back into your pocket, by self-submitting online or by using the app Better (getbetter.co).

But if you have Blue Cross then that means we can now bill therapy visits towards your insurance's deductible, if you would like us too!

You can determine your insurance benefits by calling the number on the back of your insurance card. When you call, ask:

  • What is my deductible starting 2019?
  • What is my responsibility after I've met my deductible? (Co-Pay, Co-Insurance, Out-of-Pocket, etc.)
  • Do I have a 2019 visit limit?
  • Do I need authorization prior to starting therapy?

When you find this information out, then you can better determine the two options Purposed Physical Therapy has for our Blue Cross patients:

  • Option #1: You can self-pay $80 per visit for Wellness but insurance is not involved at all. It may be cheaper (positive), but an invoice cannot be submitted towards Blue Cross by myself or you to go towards your deductible or for reimbursement back into your pocket (negative). Also, these visits would not go towards any visit limit you may have (positive) – meaning you would have endless visits. Lastly, you would never need to worry about getting a doctors referral well doing Wellness (positive).
  • Option #2: Starting 2019, you can pay ~$100 per visit and we submit your bill towards BCBS to go towards your deductible (positive). Once your deductible has been met then any co-pay or co-insurance kicks in (positive). Co-pay and co-insurance prices are different for every individual plan, so I cannot tell you those details unless I run your benefits. Also, all visit we bill towards BCBS would go towards any visit limit for therapy you may have (can be a negative for a deeper reason than I'll type here). If you hit your visit limit, then you could always transition to the $80 self-pay Wellness visits – but like I said in option 1, these would not go towards your deductible. If we submit invoices towards Blue Cross then we would need a referral from your doctor within 30 days (can be considered a negative by some). Most Blue Cross insurances don't require the referral, but this is a South Carolina law, not a Blue Cross law.

Both options have their perks and reasons to use! And both options are good for different individuals for seperate reasons.

If you would like to get on the schedule in 2019, you can contact us NOW, and we can discuss your options! Give me a call at (864) 881-1712, or email me at PurposedPhysicalTherapy@gmail.com!

Before scheduling any new patient who has Blue Cross in 2019, I will run your Blue Cross benefits to double check you have all the proper information about your insurance :)

My goal is to take care of my patients in everyway that I can! I'll be praying you all have a great Christmas season! And I hope you are all as excited as I am for the new year!
