While all of our Physical Therapists are highly qualified to treat every patient that walks through the doors at Purposed Physical Therapy, they have been deemed experts in treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and have also uniquely been deemed specialists in the management and rehabilitation of injuries that affect LiftersDancers & GymnastsRunners, Mixed Martial Artists, & other Local Athletes. 

Our Phyiscal Therapists are greatly sought after for their ability to implement Innovative Manual and Therapeutic Corrective Strategies to achieve patient goals. Our Physical Therapists maintain their knowledge on a constant basis in order to continue to provide excellent quality of care for their patients. Furthermore, they use their passion for fitness and their experience with Olympic, Professional, Collegiate, and Youth Sport Athletes to continually bring the newest techniques and knowledge to their clinic and their local Greenville community!

 All of our Physical Therapists graduated form top Univerisities with academic honors; participated and published numerous research articles; received local and university physical therapy awards; and represented their Univerisities at many national and local physical therapy conferences.

 


Dr. Thomas Denis, PT, DPT, VR, CCON, Cert. DN, 3D RGA Spec.

An athlete from a young age, Dr. Thomas Denis was drawn to the field of physical therapy after having personal experience of going through physical therapy. During his senior year of high school football, he sustained a torn rotator cuff ending the rest of his football season. After a few months of physical therapy, he was able to return to his main sport, wrestling. Through this experience, he became fascinate with how the body can work through corrective exercises in order to heal itself. While in college, he was fortunate enough to work with collegiate and professional athletes, which later lead to him working with US & French Olympic athletes as well.

Dr. James Denis, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, 3D RGA Spec.

Dr. James Denis knew from a young age that he wanted to work in the medical field. From his career as a wrestler, and later as a high school wrestling coach, he knew he wanted a pursue a professional career that matched his active lifestyle while also teaching the local community on how to heal their own injuries through corrective techniques. While in college, he worked within his college's athletic training room with the goal of helping athletes overcome and prevent injuries. This helped him develop his passion of working with an active population and in preventative medicine.

Dr. Gregory Lowe, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, 3D RGA Spec.

Dr. Gregory Lowe was initially drawn to the field of physical therapy because of the potential for a career that combined his love for athletics with scientific research and the art of caring. While attending Daemen College located in Buffalo, NY, he had the opportunity to compete on both the men’s tennis and track & field teams where he worked closely with the sports medicine staff to rehabilitate and prevent injuries to improve performance. He is passionate about movement-based treatment approaches to address pain and promote participation in an active lifestyle. Dr. Gregory relocated to Greenville, SC with his wife, Mackenzie, who is currently pursuing a career in professional running with the Asics Greenville Track Club - Elite Olympic-Development program.

-When not working, you can find the employees of Purposed PT hiking, fishing, biking, exercising, mountaineering, obstacle course racing, and participating other outdoor sports; as well as spending time with his friends and family.

-As former athletes themselves, the employees of Purposed PT understands the demands athletes need to stay in their sport, while also propeling their sport success.
