Both Dr. Thomas Denis and Dr. James Denis received their Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degrees (DPT) from the University of Miami (FL), one of the Top 10 Physical Therapy Universities in the United States. Though at different times, both Dr. Denis' graduated from the University of Miami (FL) with academic honors; participated and published numerous research articles; received local and university physical therapy awards; and represented the University of Miami (FL) at many national and local physical therapy conferences. Dr. Thomas Denis also represented the University of Miami (FL) at many national physical therapy associations where he received different national physical therapy awards.

While both Dr. Thomas Denis and Dr. James Denis are highly qualified to treat every patient that walks through the doors at Purposed Physical Therapy, they have been deemed experts in treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and have also uniquely been deemed an specialist in the management and rehabilitation of injuries that affect LiftersDancers & GymnastsRunners, Mixed Martial Artists, & Local Athletes. 

Both Dr. Thomas Denis and Dr. James Denis are greatly sought after for their ability to implement Innovative Manual and Therapeutic Corrective Strategies to achieve patient goals. Both Dr. Denis' maintain their knowledge on a constant basis in order to continue to provide excellent quality of care for their patients. Furthermore, they use their passion for fitness and their experience with Olympic, Profession, Collegiate, and Youth Sport Athletes to continually bring the newest techniques and knowledge to the clinic and their patients.

An athlete from a young age, Dr. Thomas Denis was drawn to the field of physical therapy after having personal experience of going through physical therapy. During his senior year of high school football, he sustained a torn rotator cuff ending the rest of his football season. After 6 weeks of physical therapy, he was able to return to his main sport, wrestling.

Dr. James Denis, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, 3D RGA Spec.

 

Dr. James Denis knew from a young age that he wanted to work in the medical field. From his career as a wrestler, and later as a high school wrestling coach, he knew he wanted a pursue a professional career that matched his active lifestyle while also teaching the local community on how to heal their own injuries through corrective techniques. While in college he worked within his school’s athletic training room helping athletes overcome and prevent injuries. This heped him develop his passion of working with an active population and in preventative medicine.

-When not working, you can find both Dr. Denis' enjoying hiking, fishing, biking, exercising, mountaineering, and other outdoor sports; as well as spending time with his friends and family.

-As former athletes themselves, they understands the demands athletes need to stay in their sport, while also propeling their sport success.
